Oh…where to begin talking about Jen. She is truly one of the most special friends in my life…we go way back. I met her just before she walked down the aisle to her hubby, Michael. Our husbands then traveled together for almost 2 years, so that is when we had the opportunity to really get to know each other (when we joined them on the road). She has a huge servant heart and is always so encouraging. She has always been so eager to learn about life, about being a wife and mom, and anything else that was necessary for her and her family. She’s completely genuine. I just can’t say enough about her. We haven’t seen each other in a few years, but seeing her this week was as if it was just yesterday that I’d seen her last. Let me tell you folks, she has style!
A cool thing that happened to Jen in the past few months was that she entered the Me Ra Koh SOAR competition…and guess what??? SHE WON!!!! You can check it out here on Me Ra Koh SOAR Blog. It’s totally appropriate for Jen to win this scholarship as Me Ra’s focus is family first, then photography. And I know that is Jen’s heart’s desire. This is going to be such a great way for her to get her photography business up off the ground and running! And the cool thing is, we all get to follow her journey and watch it unfold. I gotta tell you…Jen is a GREAT writer! I have always loved reading her blog posts or emails. She is quite entertaining, always keeping your attention. I think that you will enjoy reading her journey as much as I have, do and will.
With winning this awesome scholarship came many prizes. One of which was a Jille Bag. Many of you photogs out there are familiar with these great, trendy camera bags. I own one myself. Jen has to submit a picture of her with her Jille bag, so she asked me to take the honor in shooting her with the bag. We decided that we didn’t want to go standard or traditional…we wanted to go fun and edgy. She’s a great subject to shoot and of course we had so much fun doing this together. Her picture will appear in the news letter for Jille. When you go to the Jille site, you can see that Jen’s name is featured there as well…already getting her name out there.
