Photography by April Williams bio picture
  • Welcome

My name is April Williams and I am based in the North Dallas, Texas area...Go COWBOYS! Yes, I am a die-hard Cowboys fan. I have 3 wonderful children and a sweet husband. I have had a passion for photography for most of my life and have thoroughly enjoyed it as a profession.  It has been so fulfilling to work with my clients and truly being able to Capture Today's Moments for Tomorrow's Memories.

I love being able to capture the various personalities that I am privileged to work with. My style is to capture your heart when you sit down to view your gallery. I am very relaxed on a shoot capturing not only a few posed images, but mostly candid, fun images.

I would love for you to leave me a comment as every photographer thrives on hearing about their work. Have a wonderful day and I look forward to working with you.

Jay and Chelsea

Here are a few of my favs from a shoot I did a couple of weeks ago of this sweet couple, Jay and Chelsea. They are an absolutely precious couple! I had a great time with them. Thanks for letting me take your photos during our hot summer in June! Happy 4th!

Jake…Senior 2011

I had a lot of fun photographing Jake the other week. Photographing him made me think about how small this world is. His mom taught one of my boys last year and his Aunt was a Cheer coach for one of my best friends in college….such a small world.

One of the most fun jobs is photographing High School Seniors. It always makes for a fun shoot and Jake is no exception. Poor guy had to miss a midnight movie premiere the night before because he had to be up early and ready to go for pictures. Just the way a guy wants to spend his summer huh? Good thing he only has to do this once. You can tell that Jake comes from a great and loving family. He was most respectful and cooperative. There was a tinge in my heart while on this shoot realizing that one day my boys will be Seniors in high school and man oh man will that day come faster than I would ever hope for it too. I can only but pray they will be as sweet and genuine as Jake is.

Have the best Senior year ever Jake! Keep your genuine and sweet heart and always shine for Him!

Alyssa and Cole….

Someone once said that “Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons.” I couldn’t agree more. With childhood comes big imaginations, innocent thoughts, often time profound sayings, simple trust, and seeing the world through eyes that sparkle. I don’t photograph children as often these days, so when I get the opportunity to do so, my heart is always warmed by them. This serves to be no different in this case.

It’s not often that you can get a crawler in the same frame as any other family member. They are far too busy exploring their world…however, this little guy was easy to capture. I always love how the little ones just smile at you…esp if you are being the biggest dork ever. Adults look at you strange and children just smile. I secretly think that they know we are having fun entertaining them and they humor us by giving us those big, happy smiles!

As always, it’s an honor to photograph my clients and their families. I love my job more and more all the time.

Theresa and Jason – Wedding in New Jersey

Last month, I had the privilege of going to New Jersey and shooting with Neil vanNiekerk for the wedding of his clients Theresa and Jason.

They had a beautiful wedding ceremony outside followed by the reception inside with wonderful food, fun, and dancing. Theresa and Jason were one of the most fun couples to work with. They just went with the flow all day. No stress, no tension…no wedding day tense moments. They were just carefree and so happy to be getting married. They truly had so much fun on their wedding day and you could tell. With this spark in their personality, it made it easy for photographing them. You can tell they just have fun together. I loved watching them interact immensely.

And I must add that I loved shooting with Neil. He is a master at lighting and flash photography. If you don’t have his book, you should look it up. It’s called On-Camera Flash Techniques for Digital Wedding and Portrait Photography. You can click on the link to purchase the book. So, thank you Neil for hiring me to shoot with you. And thank you Theresa and Jason for allowing me to share in your special day. May you have many, many more years of fun together.

Rachael and Jeremy [Dallas/Fort Worth Wedding Photographer]

As you have read in the last post, I’m a bit behind on my workflow these days. I think that I have summer fever. I can hardly wait for my kids to get out of school for the summer….and thank goodness that it’s tomorrow. YIPPEE…

But on to more important matters…like the wedding of Rachael and Jeremy. What a beautiful couple. Rachael was a lot of fun to photograph. She has a vivacious personality. She has some sass about her, she has that seductive look all the while an sweetness that shines through. Most of all, she has a beautiful heart…a true inner beauty. Jeremy, though you are a great guy, you have definitely been blessed with this girl!

I actually met Rachael for the first time when she was but a little girl. I can’t believe I would even admit that as now, I’m starting to feel old! However, she has turned into a fun-loving woman. You could surely see the passion and love between her and Jeremy on their wedding day. It was so easy to photograph them. I didn’t have to do much directing, just had to have that camera ready. I love how we were able to capture the way that he looks at her. You can tell he is smitten as well.

We kept telling Rachael that she has an Angelina Jolie look about her and we meant it. Her dramatic features coupled with her personality made it difficult to get a bad image of her…so she made our job easier. She is going to make me look good.

As at most weddings, the little kids still stole part of the show with their cuteness! I just had to put a couple of them up for all to enjoy.

They had a sweet wedding outside. Now, with that said, remember, we are in Texas…so YES it was hot. We were melting (yes, we are all sweet enough that we would melt!). Though Rachael was hot (pun fully intended), she looked radiantly beautiful the whole evening.

Thank you guys for allowing me the privilege of photographing your wedding. Keep that passion alive!
